The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Baden-Württemberg was founded at the end of 1996 under the name "Forum for Education and Analysis in Baden-Württemberg e.V." and is based in Stuttgart. We are the Landesstiftung of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (RLS), which operates nationwide. Since 2006, there has been a regional office of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Stuttgart, which supports the work of the Landesstiftung and coordinates the educational work in Baden-Württemberg.

As a forum, we see ourselves as an open space, a place where opinions can be exchanged, where questions can be asked and answered. Two guidelines accordingly determine our educational work: pluralism and self-empowerment. The topics we take up cover a broad left spectrum. We devote our attention to the various discussions that are held in the many different currents of the left. Our aim is not to present "ready-made knowledge", but rather to put different points of view up for discussion and thus to give people the opportunity to independently develop their own position that guides their actions.

Every year we organise about 100 educational events. In doing so, we seek cooperation with other local organisations and initiatives. The focal points of our educational work are:

  •     History of the labour movement
  •     Analysis of right-wing extremism and (neo-)fascism in the past and present and development of counter strategies to strengthen democracy and civil society
  •     Analysis of capitalism and theory of society
  •     Analysis and empowerment for trade union actors and social movements
  •     International policy and strengthening approaches to civil conflict management in international relations
