Artists

The artists Paul Jonas Petry and Willem-Jan Beeren developed the project "262 Klinken" for the new building of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Berlin and were the winners of the two-phase art in architecture competition, which was held throughout Germany.

Willem-Jan Beeren, born 1975 in Valkenswaard (NL), studied architecture and art and lives in Erftstadt. Since 2006 he has been a registered architect and since 2012 professor of architecture and art at the Alanus University of Art and Society in Alfter/Bonn. He is a founding member of the artists' group beispielhaft.com and the ARGE BeerenPetry and realizes projects in the fields of architecture, art in architecture and art in public space.

Paul Jonas Petry was born in Vancouver/Canada in 1972 and studied sculpture after completing an apprenticeship as a carpenter. Since 2001 he has been working as a freelance artist and since 2015 he has been Professor of Sculpture at the Alanus University of Art and Society. He is a founding member of the artists' group beispielhaft.com and the ARGE BeerenPetry. In addition to his exhibition practice, he realizes projects in the fields of art in architecture and art in public space.
