The Foundation's New York office, located in Manhattan (275 Madison Avenue), opened its doors in 2012, fulfilling two main missions: to engage with United Nations issues, which includes cooperation with people and political representatives from the Southern Hemisphere, and to collaborate with North American (U.S. and Canadian) progressives in academia, labor unions, social movements, progressive institutions, and think tanks. The director of the office is Andreas Guenther. The New York office is part of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation's global network.

The building is a landmarked Art Deco skyscraper from the late 1920s and early 1930s and was designed by architect Kenneth Franzheim. Famed photographer Berenice Abbott photographed 275 Madison as part of her "Changing New York" series, and it remains one of the most beautiful skyscrapers of the era.
