The door opener comes from the home of Li Da (1890-1966) (on the beautiful and very large campus of Wuhan University). The house is now a museum. The house has - not unusual in China - two doors: a metal door that is opened with the door opener and behind it a wooden door with a door lock.
Li Da was one of the founders of the CCP in July 1921 and President of Wuhan University from 1953-1966. As early as 1921, Li Da was the first in China to draw attention to Rosa Luxemburg with an article on October 12 in the magazine "Republic Daily" (民国日报) and discussed her work again and again in the following years.
